Skopje, October 30 — The public transportation company (JSP) Skopje today launched a new mobile app, Skopjebus. At the same time, the Skopska mobile app is no longer operational following the launch of Skopjebus.
The new app is available on the Play Store (download link) for Android users and the App Store (download link) for iPhone users.
"Upon installing and logging into the new app, all funds previously held in the wallet will automatically be transferred to the user's account in the new app”, announced JSP Skopje.
Instructions for the new app can be accessed by scanning the QR code placed in all city buses, JSP states.
Practically, just like on the Skopska mobile app, on Skopjebus, you can top up your wallet, and purchase some of the available packages. To validate your ride, you need to select one of the purchased tickets or choose the wallet and display the QR code from the app on the validators in the bus.
Some parts of the app interface are not yet fully translated into English.
In addition to this, JSP also announced a new method for purchasing single-ride tickets (40 denars) through the phone number 185, effective from Monday (October 28).
Passengers need to call 185, after which a beep sound will play, followed by a voice message saying, "You have purchased a single-ride ticket for 40 denars" (Купивте билет за едно возење со цена 40 денари).
The difference now is that passengers no longer need to bring their phones close to the validator inside the bus.
The payment is made immediately after dialing the number and hearing the beep sound, regardless of whether the voice message is fully listened to.
Passengers then receive an SMS message stating, "You have purchased a single-ride ticket for 40 denars at HH:MM" (Купивте билет за едно возење со цена 40 денари во HH:MM).
