Skopje, August 9 — Macedonian citizens rank second among European nations in this year's Gallup Global Emotions Report, which shows the percentage of people in each country who feel anger or rage on a daily basis.
Turkey tops the list, with 34% of residents feeling some degree of anger on a daily basis. In second place are Macedonians, with 26% of respondents stating that they feel angry during the day. They are followed by Albanians and Montenegrins (24%) and Spaniards (23%).
Among the neighbouring countries Bulgaria, Serbia and Kosovo are at the bottom of the list: 11% to 13% of citizens from these countries report feeling angry during the day. In Greece, this percentage is 21%.
The countries with the lowest percentage of anger on a daily basis in Europe are Finland and Estonia (7%), followed by Portugal (8%) and the Netherlands and Croatia (9%).
The Gallup Global Emotions 2024 report offers a snapshot of Gallup’s latest measurements of people’s positive and negative daily experiences. The findings, as reported, are based on nearly 146,000 interviews with adults in 142 countries and areas in 2023.
