Skopje, October 26 — Starting next year, Macedonia's two airports, Skopje and Ohrid, will be connected with six new air routes, announced the Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski at a press conference where he shared the results of the recent public call.
Skopje will connect with Dubai, Barcelona, Lyon, and Stuttgart, while Ohrid will have flights to Istanbul and Basel-Mulhouse.
Skopje-Dubai: twice weekly, starting March 30, 2025, with Fly Dubai
Skopje-Barcelona: twice weekly, starting June 30, with Wizz Air
Skopje-Lyon: three times weekly, starting June 30, with Wizz Air
Skopje-Stuttgart: three times weekly, starting June 30, with Wizz Air
Ohrid-Istanbul: four times weekly, starting March 30, with Turkish Airlines
Ohrid-Basel Mulhouse: twice weekly, starting March 30, with Wizz Air
Minister Nikoloski noted that they are preparing a second call to be announced in the coming weeks, which is expected to bring additional destinations.
He hopes that new destinations to Ohrid and Skopje airports will be presented by the end of November or December.
The state subsidizes 12 euros per arriving passenger at Ohrid Airport and 9 euros per arriving passenger at Skopje Airport.
