Skopje, September 14 — The film ‘Housekeeping for Beginners’ (македонски: Домаќинство за почетници) directed by Goran Stolevski is this year's Macedonian candidate for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film (Oscars).
This decision was made by the Selection Committee of the Association of Film Professionals of the Republic of Macedonia, accepted and approved by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The movies 'M,' directed by Vardan Tozija, and 'Things Unsaid,' directed by Eleonora Veninova, were also competing for the candidacy.
"Housekeeping for Beginners" produced by List Production, recently had its world premiere at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival, where it won the 17th Queer Lion award in competition from 16 movies, including ‘Dog Man’ by Luc Besson and ‘Maestro’ by Bradley Cooper.
The 96th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 10, 2024, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
