Skopje, August 13 — A total of 119,751 tourists were registered in Macedonia in June, according to data from the State Statistical Office (SSO).
Of these, 23% or 27,532 were domestic tourists and 77% or 92,219 were foreign tourists. Compared to the same month last year, the number of foreign tourists increased by 7,821, as well as an increase of 1,611 domestic tourists.
Most tourists came from Turkey (33,757), followed by those from Serbia (7,907), the Netherlands (4,340), Germany (3,515) and Greece (3,129).
The number of overnight stays in June 2024 amounted to 245,249, with domestic tourists accounting for 27.6% and foreign tourists for 72.4%.
From January to June 2024, compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists increased by 11.1%, and the number of nights spent increased by 9.9%.
