Skopje, November 13 — The online marketplace Temu, operated by the Chinese e-commerce company PDD Holdings, recently began shipping to Macedonia.
Speaking to Skopje.IN, a Temu spokesperson shared that the platform launched in the country in October after identifying a demand for quality, affordable products.
“By streamlining our supply chain and cutting out middlemen, we are able to offer quality products that are reasonably priced, passing the savings to customers”, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson explained that for orders from Macedonia, there is a minimum order threshold.
“We encourage customers to meet a minimum order value so that we can more efficiently utilize the available packing space from bags, to our shipping boxes, and containers, which helps to reduce carbon emissions to the environment”, he added.
In Macedonia, Temu works with ECSC Logistic for deliveries to consumers, as they partner with third-party logistics providers to ensure that “our customers enjoy fast and reliable deliveries.”
Products for Macedonia are currently shipped mostly from China.
“Temu employs different transportation modes (air, sea, land) depending on which is the most efficient and on the product and destination. In markets such as UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, we have begun enabling qualified merchants to manage their logistics and dispatch merchandise from local warehouses. These sellers can decide on the warehousing and fulfillment methods. This model reduces delivery times and expands merchandise selection”, the spokesperson says.
